Insights: All filters at a glance

You open a widget, see a number, and wonder which filters are actually applied? Which ones are set globally, and which only at widget level? Until now, you had to piece that together yourself. From now on, every widget shows you right under its title which filters are really applied: global and widget-level, in a single row.

How it works

  • Applied filters at a glance
Under every widget title you now see a read-only filter row. It combines your global filters and the widget’s own filters, so you no longer have to add up two levels in your head. Excluded filters appear in the same row as crossed-out text, so you immediately know which filter can’t be applied to the widget. Post filters like tags or campaigns, for example, can’t be taken into account on audience widgets.

  • Spot instantly where a widget filter kicks in
Every filter that’s set at widget level only is marked with a blue dot. That way you know right away what’s filtered globally and what’s filtered on the individual widget. If the filter row only shows a count, for example “Channels: 3”, a tooltip reveals the exact values behind it when you hover.

  • In the expand view, too
The filter row appears not only on the widget in the dashboard, but also when you expand a widget. So you keep the filter context, no matter which view you’re analyzing in.
  • A leaner date picker per widget
Instead of the full calendar, you now pick a relative time range straight from the dropdown at widget level. Need a fixed range? Just type in a start and end date. If the widget supports date comparison, you’ll also find the “Compare to” option there.

Heads-up: This feature applies to Custom Dashboards and is only available in the Advanced and Premium Insights Add-ons.

What you get

No more guessing which filter is in effect. On every widget you instantly see what the numbers refer to, and the blue dot shows you where a widget deviates from the global filter. That gives you certainty in the exact moment it counts: when you analyze for yourself, and in the review in front of stakeholders, where a misread number can get expensive.
