LinkedIn mentions for private profiles
Big news for all LinkedIn power users!
Mentions of LinkedIn profiles are finally possible — even in personal posts (not just in posts published by LinkedIn Pages). 🥳
From now on, when publishing a post via Swat.io from a personal LinkedIn profile, you can easily mention other users by typing @ + name. As soon as you type, we will suggest matching profiles automatically.
How to make mentions work reliably:
If mentions don’t work right away, check the following settings. These are required by LinkedIn in order to allow tagging of personal profiles from third-party tools:
- You must be connected with the profile you want to mention.
- The person you want to tag must have their LinkedIn profile language set to English.
- The visibility of their profile outside of LinkedIn must be enabled.
- Third-party data sharing must be allowed. (This setting is usually enabled by default.)
- Mentions must be allowed. (LinkedIn users can disable being mentioned.)
- The person must not have blocked you. (Obviously 😉)
Your benefit:
No more switching back and forth! You can now publish LinkedIn content, even from personal profiles, directly via Swat.io, without limitations.
This is a game changer for companies that involve employees as corporate influencers in their social media strategy. Posts can now be planned, created, and published centrally — finally!
