Senior Product Manager [f/m/x] (35-38.5/week) | SaaS | Remote within EU is possible
Who we are:
Today, our goal is to continue growing sustainably and join the top 1% of SaaS companies with over €10 million in ARR. We want to create a meaningful impact for our customers, team, and company, becoming an integral part of our customers’ daily workflow. Guided by our core values—we add value, we drive progress, we own it, we thrive together — we prioritize quality over quantity. We focus on exceptional talent and a collaborative, supportive culture, believing that revenue follows quality, not the other way around.
At Swat.io, we're a team of 50 people with diverse backgrounds. We focus on staying lean and agile, and we’re looking for makers who thrive in this kind of environment.
Who you are:
You’ll play a key role in ensuring our product continues to excel by understanding user needs, bringing a strong understanding of how to shape meaningful AI functionality, and collaborating with our developers to build valuable features.
You care deeply about user experience, challenge assumptions when needed, and know how to move things forward without getting stuck in the details. A technical mindset and strong opinions help you hold your ground while staying open to better ways of doing things.
Who you are not:
This isn’t a role for someone early in their product career or looking to move into leadership soon. You won’t be managing a team, and we won’t be creating a title above “Senior Product Manager” any time soon.
If you prefer clear roadmaps handed to you or don’t enjoy working things out yourself with a team, this might not be a good fit. Same if you avoid decisions or struggle when things change quickly.
We’re not looking for someone who just keeps the backlog tidy or takes orders. We need someone thoughtful, proactive, and ready to take real responsibility for what we ship and why.
Purpose of the role
That will also include:
- Supporting the team in planning and prioritizing work that aligns with strategy and reality.
- Translating complex requirements into clear specs that make sense to everyone.
- Balancing long-term roadmap goals with short-term opportunities, reacting to unexpected changes (like API changes or emerging Social Media platforms).
- Working across a broad product scope, from publisher to inbox and beyond, while dealing with platform limitations and finding the right trade-offs.
- Pairing with designers early on to explore problems and define solid solutions.
- Collaborating closely with skilled and opinionated developers who value thoughtful input, to enable the development of value-adding features.
- Making sure Sales and Marketing have what they need to talk to customers and win them over.
- Actively shape how we work by bringing in ideas to improve collaboration, prioritization, and focus right from the beginning.
- Take full ownership of major product initiatives, lead them from discovery to delivery, and ship meaningful projects within your first few months.
- Make data-informed decisions: monitoring feature adoption and trends, challenging assumptions, deriving improvement potentials, and always asking "why" before we build.
Are you ready for this?
- You have at least 5+ years of experience as a Product Manager or a Product Owner and successfully owned and delivered complex product initiatives end-to-end.
- You have a deep understanding of shaping meaningful AI features.
- You understand software development processes and how to work with engineers.
- AI is part of your toolbelt in your daily work (analysing data, writing prompts, optimizing how you work).
- You prioritize backlogs, allocate resources, and manage multiple projects without losing focus.
- You think in iterations, breaking big ideas into manageable steps, and are pragmatic about what to build and when, focused on purpose over perfection.
- You know how to collect and read the data to guide decisions and spot opportunities for improvement or growth.
- You bring fresh, user-first ideas and stay curious about new tools, trends, and competitors.
- You have an opinion and aren’t afraid to speak up, but you are also open to challenge and better arguments.
- You are experienced in working with different stakeholders and navigating shifting requirements.
- You understand modern product management practices and aren’t afraid to dive into new technologies or unfamiliar problems (think: AI, Social Media platform shifts, unexpected API changes).
- You're fluent in English and confident in communicating your ideas, decisions, and reasoning across teams.
- German language skills
- Technical understanding/technical background
- Experience with social media platforms and SaaS products
- Certification as Agile Product Owner
Please note: we can only consider candidates who are currently residing in the EU and have the legal right to work here, as visa and relocation support are not available for this position.
Our stack/How we work:
- The product team plans everything in Linear, collaborates with designers in Figma, and works in 5-week development cycles, each starting with a kickoff to clarify resources, scope, and what we can realistically accomplish, whether for research or execution.
- We keep our processes agile with needed fixed points such as weekly team meetings, retrospectives, and ad hoc collaboration via Slack, Google Meet, or Slack Huddles. We are always open to jumping on calls, diving into problems together, and making sure humour is part of the process. Strong GIF game is recommended.
- We enhance productivity with advanced AI features of Raycast Pro, track user feedback in Productboard, and analyze product usage with PostHog to guide decisions and priorities
- Bigger projects typically span 2–3 cycles, but we aim to ship a meaningful first iteration within one cycle.
- The entire Swat.io team collaborates on Slack, Linear, Google Meet, Notion, Google Suite, and FigJam.

Frequently Asked Questions
What should my application look like?
Our job posting got your attention – great! We are looking forward to getting to know you better. Show us who you are – we are interested in your personality and how you fit into our team.
Please follow the link in the job ad to upload your CV and tell us in your own words why you think you want to be part of our Swat.io Crew.
We are also always happy to receive videos and/or work samples from you. If you want to send us a video, you can record it while submitting your application in our applicant tracking system. You can also upload it to Google Drive or YouTube and share the link with us.
Should my application be written in English or German?
We are an international team and our company language is English – however, certain positions require business fluent German skills (e.g. positions in Customer Support, Marketing and Sales Teams) and for those we kindly ask you to hand in your application in German. As a rule of thumb: follow the job ad's language for your application documents.
What does the recruitment process look like?
- After you have completed your application, we will contact you within 1 week with the invitation for a short call. Even if a Job Description is written in German, please don’t be surprised, that the first contact is in English as it is our company language.
- The interview: Let’s find out more about each other – our 1st round will be a 60-minute video call where you meet your future Team Manager and your People Manager.
- In-depth Interview/Trial Day: For some positions, you will receive questions and tasks from us which we ask you to work on in advance and prepare for the interview. You will get to know various colleagues from our team, present the tasks to them or work with them on tasks for your potential future role and get deep insights into how we work. During this step or afterward, you will also meet our CEO, Johannes, for a chat.
- Offer: You have convinced us with your professional and social skills and we think you will complete our team perfectly.
You will then receive an offer from us which will hopefully lead to a contract signing.
- Welcome aboard! You will receive all contract documents from us and we will start to prepare your onboarding. We will pair you up with your own personal buddy so that you feel welcome right from the start and ready to reinforce our values from your first day with us!
When should I expect a response and how long does the recruitment process take?
The current average duration from application to signed contract is about 1,5 months. If you need feedback really fast, please communicate this with us from the beginning, we can consider this during our planning. Mostly closing dates for all open positions are as soon as possible, but it is more important for us to find a perfect fit.
Are there on-site meetings/interviews at the Swat.io office?
Most of our team members work remotely and there are a few regulars in the office. Some teams gather together for certain occasions like brainstorming, co-working, socializing, and after-work activities.
We also offer our candidates to come by the office for one of the steps of the recruiting process. It can be for an assessment, to meet the team, or to pick up the equipment but there is always an option to meet some of us in person.
I have been invited to a video interview with you – how can I prepare?
We schedule most of our video-calls with Google Meet, Zoom or Around. Make sure you are familiar with the tool if you have never used it before, ensure a steady internet connection and check your microphone/speakers.
What is the company language?
With team members from over 12 countries, we are very international. For this reason, our company language is English and all internal communications happen in English. Nevertheless, as the majority of our clients are German speaking, some teams operate in German, f.e. Finance & Operations, Marketing, Sales and Support. Communication within the company happens in English for them as well.
