Gerald joined Swat.io as in summer 2020 and is simply the best Senior Operations Manager around, managing and organising everything for our team. Moreover, he is one of our many smiling faces who keep in touch with our customers. On top of that, he is a motivated member of the Swat.io Runners Club.

Our Finance & Operations team is the control center of our company. From purchasing equipment, keeping our office up and running to invoicing and keeping an eye on our financial numbers - our Finance & Operations stars ensure that Swat.io runs perfectly smooth.

My Journey to Swat.io

My journey which brought me to Swat.io is not only a story about finding a great and caring employer, but also about finding a company which carries personal growth as an important part of its DNA. ☀️

Prior to Swat.io, I had been working in the field of international hospitality for almost 12 years in various roles such as Operations, Sales, Event Management and Human Resources within different locations both locally and internationally.

Changing an industry is never an easy decision and stepping out of your comfort zone may also be  difficult, especially coming from an industry which can be described as dynamic, international and team oriented. 🏆

That’s exactly what brought me to Swat.io. A company which offers an international environment, in the dynamic and innovative world of social media, where every individual employee and every team has the opportunity to contribute with of their personal experiences and suggestions.

What I love about working at Swat.io is the way we work together as a team, and the positive and open attitude which I experience on a daily basis.

Especially in my current role as Senior Operations Manager, working together as one organisation is of utmost importance and contributes towards the company's success.

I am also very pleased with having the opportunity to choose flexible working hours, which makes studying next to my full time job quite enjoyable.

Carina is our Senior Content Manager and joined Swat.io early 2019. She plans, creates and manages our content on all of our channels and always keeps an eye out for details. The way she organises her tasks in her neat bullet journal is just inspiring and she is greatly appreciated for her enthusiasm and dedication to her work among us Swaties.

Our Marketing team is the creative beating heart of our company. From content creation to performance monitoring to analytics and graphic design, our five marketing wizards make sure that the outside world gets to know how remarkable Swat.io is as a product and as a company.

My Journey to Swat.io

Before I started working at Swat.io, I worked at a marketing agency where I used Swat.io's social media tool in my daily work. I really enjoyed using the product. That's why I applied right away when I found out that the company was looking for someone with my experience.

I have been working at Swat.io since February 2019. My start here was very smooth – the onboarding experience was perfectly organized, everyone was very welcoming and I could bring in my own ideas to the table from day one. Since then, I have been able to grow by leading my own projects and further developing my marketing skills.

What I enjoy most about working at Swat.io are the company culture and our flexible working hours. Everyone is open to new ideas and we are pulling together across teams to achieve our goals. When I started working here, I was in the middle of finishing my master's degree. Thanks to our flexible schedule, it was never a problem to leave earlier for university and to juggle both.

Patrick is our Head of Customer Support and a great example of how you can grow at Swat.io. Starting in 2017 as Support Manager, by feeling responsible not only for supporting our customers but also for all of us Swaties from day one, Patrick quickly turned into our No. 1 troubleshooter and internal IT support. Being the dedicated and motivated person he is, he took over the Support Team in 2020 and made it excel even more.

Our Support team can easily be called the backbone of our company. Always approachable and with a strong passion for assisting our customers, everyone in the team is onboard to provide a remarkable customer support experience.

My Journey to Swat.io

I joined Swat.io all the way back in 2017 as a Support Agent on a part-time job. Initially I was approached by our then-CTO Jolli to apply for the position as I knew working with him from previous projects. The atmosphere was very open and welcoming without complicated hierarchies but still enough structure to get the job done – everybody was always approachable about ideas or a quick chat. I learned a great deal about the inner workings of a SaaS company, the product itself and Support work, as back in those days the Support Team had to handle two products at the same time – our sister company Walls.io shared the Support Team with Swat.io at the time.

Over time I upgraded to do more hours and eventually became a full-time employee – something I had never imagined committing to, up until then my professional life was a mix of part-time employment and self organized side projects. But with the environment and challenges provided by both the company and the product it was an easy decision.

In early 2020 I was asked to take the team lead position in the support team. Again, a professional challenge I had not anticipated nor strived for at the time – being somebody's boss and taking responsibility for a whole team was not on my career plan nor on my life agenda. It took a weekend of decision time and I ‘ve never regretted it: together with awesome team members we sailed through the pandemic, solidified our workflows, gracefully created and handed over the support work for Walls.io into their own team and are looking forward to even more exciting stuff in the months and quarters to come!

Our core values are an important anchor point in dealing with all kinds of issues and to reassure yourself that you are on the right track. My favourite story about the core values is their ordering: is the first one in the list really the most important one? Turns out they are sorted alphabetically: every single one is equally important and the order is just random.

Thanks to all my team members, all other teams and team leads and the management: you all rock and constantly make me learn new stuff about so many things!

Steffi is one of our 2 People Managers at Swat.io and joined early 2020. She is intrigued by the many colourful facets of modern & mindful people management. Being an always approachable fellow team mate for everyone and a sparring partner for management is her sweet spot. She keeps her inner balance by practising and teaching Yoga.

My Journey to Swat.io

I had been working in People Management for 10 years before joining Swat.io early 2020. I have worked in IT consulting before, have done HR for an international company, gathered international experience when working abroad in a recruiting agency and I was among the first 10 employees for a start up, now scale up. I’ve always looked for a company that combined a modern, new work approach together with a non bureaucratic, flat-to-non-hierarchical mindset, and I managed to find it in Swat.io.

Being a single mom with 2 small kids, I especially value our flexible working times and how well we handled the whole Corona situation.

What I immediately liked about working here is the way we are giving feedback to each other and that openness and that our “come as you are” approach is not just a buzzword - we believe in our people and we know that everyone is so passionate and dedicated about our product and our company and this is all that matters.
